We created this video for the City of Nanaimo. Combining drone footage, onsite videography, still photos, and motion graphics, this mini documentary presents an overview of each of the dams. This video provides educational information on the location, purpose and age of the City of Nanaimo’s nine dams.
The construction and maintenance of dams has a long history in and around Nanaimo with some of the oldest structures dating back to the early 1900s. Of the City’s nine dams, most were built in support of either the region’s historic coal mining industry or as part of the region’s power supply, while other dams were built to manage water.
