Homalco Forestry Documentary Video
It was such fun and such an honour to work for Homalco Forestry. This documentary video was the vision of Derek Ferguson, logging supervisor. His goal was, and is, to attract First Nations youth to the industry. He gathered solid partners like Interfor’s First Nations Forestry Partnerships and this video became a reality.
Getting to travel to Homalco territory in British Columbia – Bute Inlet and film in the amazing Orford Bay was a wonderful experience. Not only did I love it but so did the camera guys!
Homalco Forestry runs a great crew, a great camp and they are proud of what they do. Add to that the pride of being a First Nations forestry company with some of the crew working the same land our ancestors did. We created this documentary video to show the world what they do and to attract more youth to this exciting industry.
This video is a combination of a mini-documentary, educational video, and commercial. It combines interviews with action shots and sweeping landscape views to provide an educational experience that will leave you wanting to learn more.
