Quatsino First Nation: Our Land, Our People
Tremain was honoured to have been invited to be a part of the production of ‘Quatsino First Nation: Our Land, Our People.’ With the utmost gratitude, we thank Quatsino Nation for welcoming us into their territory and allowing us to reflect the deep and respect-based relationship they have with the land. We have worked with Quatsino First Nation on a number of projects, such as a website for the land-use plan, a website for the community, and this video about their Land Use Plan. For this video we combined on-site remote filming and interviews with post-production that aligned with the Nation and their intent. We couldn’t know ahead of time what the final video would look like – what those stories will be. That was discovered as we interviewed Elder’s and visited their territory. The stories and the video itself is not only directed by the Nation but unfolds and opens from those interviewed. Our intent is to serve the Nation, to reflect back what has been shared, to amplify a community and a Nation.
